Opening your pub safely

A warm and friendly welcome

We're famous for looking after our guests at the Virgins & Castle and now more than ever we want you to feel comfortable, relaxed and safe every time you visit your local pub.

It goes without saying that we ran a pretty tight ship anyway and so many of the cleaning and hygiene practices we did already. But for your peace of mind we're just explaining things in a little more detail.  That way you can enjoy a drink and bite to eat knowing that every time you visit the Virgins & Castle you can sit back and let us look after you.

Keeping everyone safe

Since March last year we have taken every decision along the way with the safety of our guests and our team at the forefront of our minds.  With the latest lifting of restrictions that is still the case. As such we will continue with the vast majority of measures with which we have been operating and you'll be familiar with.

Making ordering easy

  • Table bookings are encouraged, and our tables are still spaced out, but you can still visit the pub without a reservation and receive a warm welcome.

  • We will continue to ask to register and check-in with the NHS app for track and trace.

  • Surfaces will still continue to be cleaned regularly and sanitiser still readily available.

  • The team will all continue to wear masks, for theirs and your safety for the time being.

  • All guests are encouraged to wear face masks, especially indoors, but everyone is very much free to decide what makes them most comfortable - and there is no judgement either way from any of us.

  • You will be able to wander in and order both food and drinks from the bar.

  • We would encourage all guests to pay by card or contactless where possible.

  • We will be continuing with table service for everyone, in every area of the pub, including our beer garden.

  • We would ask everyone to be mindful of social distancing and considerate to all guests and members of the team.

As ever our team is on-hand if you have any queries or concerns and for a full list and detail you can read our full document of our measures to mitigate risk.
